Video Story: A reflection from the Middle East
A team from our U.S. headquarters recently visited our local church partners serving children and families in Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt. Jake Barreth, director of international ministry at The Global Orphan Project, shared a raw reaction to an experience he had while visiting a school for refugee children who escaped Iraq.
Take two minutes to watch, share and try to place yourself in his story:
“I saw the name of this kid and it looked just like my son’s name. Then I went over and read the story of how this kid’s home was burned to the ground by ISIS . . .
“. . . I would go to the ends of the earth for my own kid. I should be willing to do the same for some other kid who just wasn’t born where my son was.”
Jake and his team visited Tyre Church, our founding local partner in Lebanon, as well as nine other new or potential partners in Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt. We’ll continue to share updates on expanding opportunities to serve refugees in the Middle East.
Join on our next trip to Lebanon, July 12-20, 2019, and experience the ministry of our local church partners firsthand.
