Loving Hedges and Walls
Hedges and walls are generally not considered loving structures. Bridges, arches, and walkways, we like. Six-foot, cinder block barricades? Not so much. Maybe we need to think again.
In his book, Hedges-Loving Your Marriage Enough to Protect It, author Jerry Jenkins makes a strong case for healthy boundaries. We may draw our lines in different places, but we can all agree there are treasures in life which need to be protected. Children top the list.
So, in the children’s village of Philadelphia, their wall is now up. It is a symbol of security and permanency. The boundaries of home are defined, and a welcoming gate greets all friends.
We’re grateful for the generosity of those who invested in it, the locals who did the work, and the children who benefit.
