Please understand that by visiting, making a donation, or creating an account on goproject.org, you are agreeing to the practices explained below.

The information we collect from you on goproject.org.

When you visit the sites: The Global Orphan Project collects information about the Internet Protocol (IP) address of all visitors to goproject.org. Every computer and device connected to the Internet is assigned a unique number known as an IP address. We do not monitor your individual usage, but instead use this information to help diagnose problems, maintain our website more effectively, and gather broad demographic information about where our visitors are located and which domains they are using. Goproject.org uses cookies. A cookie is a simple text file, containing a unique identifying feature, that is stored on a user’s web browser. Cookies store useful information to help improve your user experience, like settings, remembering items in a shopping cart, or remaining logged in to your account. Cookies created on your computer by using our site do not contain personally identifiable information and do not compromise your privacy or security. You can set your web browser to disable all cookies, but this could affect your web browsing experience.

When you donate on the sites: Our site uses securely encrypted donation forms. We collect your willingly submitted contact information (first and last name, email address, and phone number), credit or debit card information (card type, card number, security code, and expiration date), in some cases eCheck information (bank name, account number, and routing number), billing and also in some cases shipping information, and unique identifiers (like invoice or confirmation order numbers). Contact information from these forms is used to process donations or merchandise purchases, provide receipts and supply information about The Global Orphan Project to our donors. The contact information is also used to reach visitors when necessary in order to resolve customer service issues or questions. Users may readily opt out of receiving future communications (see Opt-Out below). Financial information that is collected is used to bill the user for donations or purchases. Unique identifiers (such as an invoice number) may be collected from visitors to assist in matching current donation information with donor history information in our system. For more information about the security of your transactions, please read about our Security Policy below.

When you create an account on the sites: When you create a personal account on goproject.org for the purpose of donating or creating a fundraising page GO Project collects your name, email address, billing and shipping addresses, password, and other information you willingly provide. It is your responsibility to keep your password secure at all times to avoid unauthorized use of your GO Project account. We do not pass on this information to any other third party.

Our Security Policy to protect your information

Sensitive data such as credit card numbers are encrypted using SSL and other industry standard measures, to provide an additional level of security. To ensure transactions are secure, we use a 128-bit SSL certificate. 128-bit SSL is the encryption standard for financial institutions around the world. A 128-bit SSL certificate is a digital document that has unique codes to identify the holder of the SSL certificate to the person accessing the site. The transfer of online information and data to and from our site is protected by an SSL (Secure Socket Layer) session, allowing web browsers to verify the authenticity of our site and to communicate with our site securely. This protects confidential information from interception and hacking and encrypts any information exchanged during this session. It is your responsibility to keep your password secure at all times to avoid unauthorized use of your GO Project account.
