The Pastor's Posse at Sarampet
Long after the city skyline and street lights disappear, follow the one lane road for an hour or two to the Father’s House at Sarampet. You’ll be glad you did.
You may be greeted with children singing and Indian flowers.
A posse of teenage boys may give you a tour of their farm duties, introduce you to their geese, their dogs (Julie, Olive, and Spicy), and show you two pigs who gave birth to 30 last year. They wanted to make sure I understood this happened on the same day!
“Harry, Pavan, Gavard, and Solomon”
They might then invite you to their 5 am morning Bible study led by Pastor Vijay.
Vijay is a young pastor and newlywed who has opened his heart and home to orphans. Right now, while the their home is being finished, the girls have moved in with Pastor Vijay and his bride. How’s that for the start to a new marriage?
In addition to discipling boys at 5 am and being a dad to more than a dozen girls, there’s another reason I want to be in the Pastor’s Posse: we complete each other.
You see, Vijay has one finger on his right hand. I have four. Together, we’re all set. How’s that for a beautiful partnership?
Enough fun for now. I’ve got an early Bible study in the morning…
