Light shining bright
The Bible speaks of an on-going spiritual battle for truth and life. For those with eyes to see, it’s clear. Darkness and evil today cause real pain. News headlines and cultural trends communicate an active rejection of God and His ways. Yet, the Bible portrays God as sovereign and on offense (“the gates of hell will not prevail…” – Matthew 16:18). The Lord is victorious. Sometimes we can take our eyes off, but over the last 10 days, Jesus hasn’t let us. He has overwhelmed with His goodness. Aslan is on the move! Here is a little of the glimpse He has given us:
- Watching the blind (Mercedes, a 12-year old Dominican girl) lead the rest of us in praise [ready story] – Worship
- Lifting up the name of Jesus in song with 20,000+ people in Central Park, NYC – Revival
- Praying and singing with Haitian pastors who are fully trusting God to break through ministry hardships – Faith
- Listening to Vision trip team members speak words of encouragement and affirmation over plastic beads on a Haitian roof – Love
- Visiting GOEX’s Life SA manufacturing facility in Tabarre where eight Pathways graduates are making their way at their first jobs as young adults – Dignity
- Reading daily about churches in Kansas, Missouri, and Texas using The Care Portal to meet the needs of local children and families in crisis – Community
- Partnering with the church to bring five children living on the street in South Sudan [read story] into their safety and care, and five more in India, as the Father’s House Hyderabad comes to life – Family
Thank you for journeying with us into the orphan window. God is turning the hearts of the children to their fathers and the fathers to their children. Jesus is giving beauty for ashes. The Light shines brightest in darkness. Behold, Jesus makes all things new! What a privilege to serve Him by caring for His kids with you!
