Art for Orphans: Isabelle's Global Orphan Project
Many of you know Isabelle and have maybe even purchased a box of her hand-drawn cards. Isabelle’s journey to help kids around the world started nearly five years ago. Earlier this month Isabelle and her family traveled to Texas to present at World Mandate, a conference promoting world change. Here’s an update from her mom on how God moved through cards and caring for orphans…
“Worship God, Change the World!”
World Mandate 2012 Waco, TX
5,000 people, awesome worship, amazing speakers, rich times of prayer, hilarious laughter, and IMPACT NOW – a creative place to engage and do something to CHANGE THE WORLD! We love the vision, the heart, the passion behind World Mandate – it’s a place to catch vision, to be inspired, and to be moved into action for God’s purposes in the world.
In September 2011, Isabelle designed a World Mandate (WM) exclusive card in order to raise funds to build a home in Rukore Village, Uganda. She sold out of the 300 boxes and we had to take orders for more. The home was built in March 2012 and the children have moved in! This completed her 9th home!!
This year for WM, Isabelle designed a new card (Isabelle’s House of Hope) based on photos she’d seen of the home in Rukore, Uganda. We took 400 boxes – that’s 4,000 cards to sell with all of the proceeds going to the life care costs for the children living in that home for 3 years. She sold out all 400 boxes and raised over $9,000 in less than 48 hours. We loved watching God move powerfully!!!
