House of Hope in Haiti
Pastor Jimmy “Haiti host extraordinaire” Dodd, is leading another adventure this week. Jimmy +30 landed in Haiti yesterday. We’re most excited about 18 girls on Jimmy’s team from KC’s House of Hope. Our guess is that our GO Project kids are going to love them. Below is an excerpt from Wendy LeBlanc’s blog indicating that day one was full.
“Well after many attempts to get to this point to actually post, I am finally successful. ;] I will make this quick before I lose it all again….and this, after MANY attempts to get it to quit coming up in French instead English. trials ;]
The trip was great! All of our first time flyers did beautifully!! After a pretty toasty trip through customs, a wild ride on the bus to the compound (very humbling too with poverty so evident everywhere), it all culminated to pulling in to the compound to be greeted by 50+ orphans running toward us with huge smiles on their faces and waving frantically! PERFECT!
It is so late and we are all exhausted, but we are excited to begin the day tomorrow refreshed and ready to go to work!!”
Our friendship with The House of Hope really took off after this year’s Haiti Summit in March. We know God is doing to do a great work this week in and through these ladies. We’ll share more of the story soon….
