Greatest in the Kingdom
History is full of children doing great things! David slayed Goliath; Samuel was called to be a prophet of God, and Mary gave birth to our Savior all before they reached today’s legal voting age. Paul tells Timothy not to let anyone look down on you according to your youth. At the GO Project, we’ve met several children who aren’t just reading these parts of their Bibles; they are living it.
While many kids were playing video games and watching cartoons this weekend, Cara Morisson (9 years old) and her friends organized and hosted a talent show for Haiti. They raised $5,000, all of which will go directly to building a home for ten orphaned and abandoned children! Cara’s motivation for the show? “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves…defend the rights of the poor and needy.” (Proverbs 31:8,9)
In Matthew 18, Jesus says whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Cara and Crew, thank you for showing us what that looks like. What a privilege to serve the King with you!
