Remembering the courage and faith of Pastor Mohammad Yamout
Dear GO Family,
It is with a heavy heart that I share that Pastor Mohammad Yamout passed away on Wednesday, May 18 from a heart attack.
The Lord touched the life of a street kid in Beirut, set him apart, and used him as a powerful Ambassador of Jesus Christ to bring forth Lighthouses of hope for multitudes of suffering children and families, and throngs of otherwise cast out, cut out refugees, whom Pastor Mohammad always welcomed and loved with all that he had to give. Pastor Mohammad’s story is one only God could have written. Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 1:18-31 ring in my soul when I think about Mohammad Yamout. His calling required a big faith and courage that few on earth will ever know, and the Lord faithfully gave Pastor Mohammad a double portion. The good work that the Lord began with Pastor Mohammad will continue and increase throughout the Middle East, in Jesus’ name. For the Lord finishes what He starts. Philippians 1:6.
Thanks be to God that Pastor Mohammad is fully at peace for all eternity in the very presence of Jesus. I pray that his boldness in Christ will inspire all of us fresh and anew in our faith walk. Please hold the Yamout family close to your hearts and keep them intentionally before the Lord in your prayers.
Love,
Joe Knittig, CEO of The Global Orphan Project
