Event Recap: An Evening of Encouragement 2020
The world is focusing on so much negativity right now, but the good continues to happen all around us and needs to be celebrated. On Saturday, May 2nd, we did just that by virtually gathering for An Evening of Encouragement. Attendees connected to the life-changing work supporters of our ministry have been investing in since day one. Our mission is to care for the world’s most vulnerable children and families. Right now, we recognize the greatest need is to help ensure those affected by COVID-19 are in safe and stable homes.
Our Founders, Mike and Beth Fox, teed up encouraging stories from key players in our field ministry on how we are partnering with the Church to continue to serve our most vulnerable neighbors nearby and those half-way around the world.
Thank you for attending. Thank you for engaging. You encourage us to keep serving kids and families in crisis.
Below you can find the incredible, touching field stories shared during the event.
CarePortal U.S.
CarePortal is an online platform developed by the Global Orphan project that brings the needs of hurting children and families in your community to your attention. Caseworkers uncover the needs. CarePortal makes local churches aware, giving them a real-time opportunity to respond. In coordination with the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and child welfare workers across the country, CarePortal launched a COVID-19 Disaster Relief feature to provide a counter-surge of care. Through this new initiative, local churches across the nation are able to serve at-risk children, adults, elders and under-employed suffering from COVID-19 related crises in their communities. Visit careportal.org/covid19 to learn more and get involved.
International Ministry
The Global Orphan Project exists to break the orphan cycle through the power of community, commerce and the love of Jesus. Setting traditional institutional orphan care models aside, we’re connecting a global family united by a shared vision to care for children and vulnerable families along the entire spectrum: Orphan Prevention, Orphan Care and Transition. Focusing on one child at a time, we provide sustainable, local, family-style support and care that is deeply rooted in compassion and hope.
Feel free to share these stories with your friends and family.
These moments are not possible without your generous support. Please consider a one-time or monthly gift to The Global Orphan Project to help break the orphan cycle.
