The Right Question
Tour d’Uganda (TdU) launches today. 10 days, 14 riders from 4 states, 220 miles in Africa with one purpose: to support the ministry of caring for orphaned and abandoned children. On the Tour the team will visit children’s villages, a sewing center, a ministry caring for the HIV positive, worshiping with the local church. We’re prayerful, and still at times, so careless with words, especially within the “Christian Community.”
This week, were praying for this adventure. Saying things like, “I hope God shows up.” We repented. The Truth is God will be there with us in Uganda. The question is “Will we show up? Will we be fully present in the moment, or will we slide through on the surface?” This is going to be a really cool bike ride, but if that’s all it is – we will have whiffed.
Many on the trip come from different world views. We respect that, but we are inviting all TdU’ers to be fully present in Uganda; to consider the possibility that God is there and desires to meet them in a powerful way. That’s the right question for all of us…whether in Africa or Overland Park….Jesus knocks at the door. He’s here. Where are you? Where are we? That’s the right question.
