Chickens helping families
Jean Ronald (above) is helping raise chickens at the GO Haiti poultry farm. A second-year student in the Pathways Program, he’s learning how to care for animals like goats and chickens, plant and grow crops, and is developing valuable business skills in the process. The hands-on experience is helping prepare him for adulthood – to find quality work and support his family, but the chickens are not just helping provide jobs and hands-on learning. They also provide nutrition to children living in our partner’s care.
Each $10 chicken you and others purchase for children provides 10 protein-powered meals. This Saturday, May 2nd, you can run for children AND chickens at the sixth-annual GO Project Family 5K in Parkville, Missouri. We invite you to join us Saturday, and to our out-of-town friends, join in by supporting a team running for chickens.
