A place of refuge in Torit, South Sudan
Last month, South Sudan marked its first anniversary as a country. Like many new countries, year one was difficult. Military conflict with the north, economic hardship, and political corruption pose significant challenge, but in the turmoil, God’s church is providing a place of refuge.
Recently we received this e-mail from our GO Africa Field Director, Alison Barfoot:
Attached is a photo of the construction of the two homes for the Father’s House in Torit, South Sudan. This is encouraging. Rose, Scott, and Sam will be going to Torit in early September, God willing, to do child selection and mother selection training with the management committee. Rejoice with us in this progress!
We are rejoicing and joining others who are praying for a God-honoring peace in South Sudan.
