Churches working together
Recently this Care Portal request came in: “There is a 2-year-old boy on my caseload who is in need of a baby bed. The placement is now co-sleeping with the child, which is not safe. He is in need of a toddler bed, as a pack and play is too small for him.”
Two Churches, in two different cities, responded.
For The City Networks in Austin, replied “We have a toddler bed, but no mattress. We are located in North Austin so we would need to coordinate pickup/delivery. Cornerstone Christian Center/Jeremiah House in Brenham, Texas, responded that they had a toddler mattress, but not a bed. Together they were able to fill this need.
Each time a Care Portal need is met the Church is saying to these children and families…”And don’t be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don’t worry about such things. These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs. Luke 12:29-30 NLV
The Care Portal Team wants to share with you…“If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.” Romans 12:8
Also, as the Church becomes more aware of the needs in their own back yard more and more are responding. The goal for each county is to have at least 15 churches ready and willing. You can see the number of churches already participating by county below. Please share and get the word out!
