Jam Packed with Jesus Passion
Last week, CarePortal representatives from across the country gathered to celebrate, train and collaborate. Those in attendance participated in the 2nd birthday celebration, where it was announced that local churches participating in CarePortal have impacted more than 9,000 children since CarePortal launched two years ago. Other highlights included:
Heart of the Founders:
The Global Orphan Project founders, Mike and Beth Fox, shared their hearts and poured out their hope for the transformation of the U.S. child welfare system.
Cost of Poverty Experience:
Friday morning, attendees participated in a poverty simulation designed to provide insights into the daily challenges of nearly 46 million people across the country. Many in the CarePortal family were trained to lead the Cost of Poverty Experience in their communities.
Recognition:
CarePortal team members recognized their peers for their demonstration of one of three qualities: courage, humility and excellence. We are so honored to work with all of you, but special recognition goes to Mike Worley, Sue Baird and Derek Nelson for their service.
From the feedback of those in attendance, it was a God-honoring time filled with Jesus passion. Preparations for next year have already begun, and we are beginning to reflect upon how we can continue to equip you in your efforts to serve the vulnerable in your community.
Over the next year, CarePortal will continue to expand — launching in new regions, enrolling new churches in existing regions, and sharing Tier 2 and Tier 3 needs in select regions. As we anticipate the challenges of growth, we do so with the knowledge of the incredible giftedness of our team, our agency partners, and the church. What a privilege to serve with you!
