OVERVIEW

Travel with us to experience the ministry and culture of our partners in Hyderabad, India. You will visit orphan care and prevention ministries in and around the city, reflecting on the efforts of our local partners to sustain local children and families. As you travel, you’ll also visit historical sites and places of incredible natural beauty.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON A VISION TRIP

Community:

Spending time with local pastors and the ministry leaders of GO India, you’ll learn about their love and service for the vulnerable children in their communities. You will visit orphan care homes in both urban and rural environments. And, of course, you will have time to meet and to encourage children in the care of our local partners!

Culture:

Known as the “City of Pearls,” Hyderabad is steeped in history and culture, and visits to the city offer a journey into both the traditional and contemporary. Hyderabad is truly a melting pot, with divergent spheres of influence on dress, architecture, and traditions. You’ll see opulent temples and mosques and iconic monuments dating back to the 16th century, as well as a modern skyline featuring one of India’s most thriving IT centers. And of course, you’ll have the opportunity to experience Hyderabad cuisine! Locals don’t want you to miss out on the opportunity to try the celebrated dish, biriyani.

Weather:

Hyderabad’s weather varies greatly throughout the year. March – May involves extreme heat, with temperatures routinely more than 100° Fahrenheit. Monsoon season takes place from July to September, with high levels of rainfall and humidity. The climate is most pleasant October – February, with temperatures from the low 60s to the high 80s. Weather conditions are subject to change, so recheck the forecast in the days leading up to your trip.
