Lira is in northern Uganda, an area ravaged by HIV/AIDS and a 20-plus year civil war that saw an unknown multitude of people killed, children forced into a rebel army, and families ripped apart. To say there’s a need for orphan care in northern Uganda would be a dramatic understatement. GO Project has partnered with the Church of Uganda to plant a church-based children’s village in Lira. The life of the Bishop in Lira answers whether the church has a heart for this: he has 22 children in his home, 7 biological children and 15 orphans from extended relatives.
