“You cannot refuse God.” –Pastor Bertin
After meeting community members that desired to plant a church in La Hatte, Pastor Bertin started a small church in a tent on January 25, 2001. It was this ministry that shed light for him on the number of kids in the community that had never attended school. It was this knowledge that drew him deeper into the community and prompted the opening of a new school in 2007. A strong desire to educate the next generation brought many students without shoes, clothes and food; yet, each was accepted into the school. In 2009, seeing the continued need of the community, the church began caring for orphans in the community. Pastor Bertin’s holds a strong passion to disciple the children so that they may lead worship, preach, pray, and go on mission trips to share the Gospel in other villages. As of January 2016, 58 children are in care at La Hatte.
