“I don’t talk about what I have heard. I talk about what I have lived through.” –Pastor Claude Mondesir
The Global Orphan Project first partnered with Pastor Claude Mondiser in late 2009. At the time, neither knew how God would use the relationship. Soon, after the Jan 12, 2010 earthquake, Pastor Mondiser’s facility in Croix des Bouquets became GO Project’s Orphan Transition Village, caring for hundreds of children affected by the quake. In 2011 Pastor Mondesir followed a calling from the Lord to set the foundation for the Eben-Ezer Evangelic Church in Leogane on land he had originally bought to raise cows. Currently, it is the only church in the area. From the beginning, the church was committed to caring for local orphaned and abandoned children. Beginning in 2014, the church’s dedication to the vulnerable has expanded to include widows and widowers that have been abandoned and neglected by their families. This holistic view of ‘orphan care’ is one of the reasons we love partnering with Pastor Claude. As of January 2016, 86 children are in care at Eben Ezer Leogane.
