Update – Tomas
Overnight, Tomas gained strength, ramping up to hurricane status. Right now, Tomas is passing between Jamaica and Cuba to the west and Haiti to the east, hitting Haiti from south to north. The eye is at the SW of Haiti (Jeremie).
Here is the update we just received from Moise on the ground:
The south is mostly hit with winds and heavy rains. The sea is rising up and some rivers have left their space. There is flooding in many spots in Les Cayes. As for our Villages, Luckson is in contact with the village leaders. Cavaillon and Cassamajor are flooded. Luckson did advise Cavaillon to Cambry. We will keep you in the loop. The kids at Cassamajor are moved to the pastor’s house.
The officials reports:
1) The govt moved and relocated about 10600 people.
2) The department of Grandanse is getting hit. In the whole country there Is report of one death and 3 injuries and all are in Jeremie.
