The Miracle of Life in Pothawira
Two children were recently welcomed into the Pothawira family in Malawi! Here is an e-mail excerpt from our partner Pastor Peter Maseko:
We just received another set of twins today, both male and about 5 days old. The mother died last night after a c-section delivery at Salima District Hospital due to severe pre-eclampsia. She was being buried at home when the babies were brought to Pothawira Orphan Homes. The babies have no names, the guardians asked us to name them, so could you please at GO Project or the Colonial congregation come up with names for this set of male twins as soon as feasible. We appreciate you so much, may God bless you abundantly. – Peter and Emma Maseko
Here is the response from Colonial here in Kansas City:
Greetings, Praise God for these beautiful new baby boys! What an honor! I’m so thankful that Peter and Emma were able to receive these precious children! As for naming these young men, may I recommend: Stephen Matthew and Daniel James. Biblically, each of these men were men of great faith and courage. They followed the Lord –living lives of Godly character, integrity, humility, and great faith! Bless the Lord for these new members of the Pothawira family!
As was the case for Stephen and Daniel’s mother, a challenge and risk many women in Malawi and around the work face are complications during child birth. This is why a medical clinic at Pothawira is so dear and important to their ministry. Recently, Pothawira broke ground on Phase II of the Medical Clinic, which will provide a surgical unit for delivering babies to help mothers like Stephen and Daniel’s.
