The Care Portal's first request helps a local familyRich Stigall
We are excited to share with you our very first Care Portal success in Texas!
The request was for a kinship family (a relative or person that has a significant relationship with the child) who was caring for, and in the process of being licensed to adopt, a 4-year-old boy. Their home had acquired bed bugs, and they were struggling to get rid of them. They needed a professional exterminator but could not afford one. Their case worker submitted their need to The Care Portal.
A local church answered this request, and covered the cost of an exterminator to get rid of the bugs in the home. Most importantly, a 4-year-old boy, by the grace of God, will not enter into the foster care system today!
Many requests have already come in through CPS in the Austin area. The needs are out there and REAL. Below is a breakdown of the requests by county that HAVE come in so far.
We believe that by working together, communities and families across the U.S. will again look to the church as we look to Christ. We need more churches to enroll so Care Portal can spread across Texas! Learn more at careportal.org
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:19 NLT
