Prayer request from half a world away
Excerpts from a recent e-mail from Brother Felipe Castro and his wife, Joy, our “Solid Rock” partners in Cambodia:
“Last month, a newborn baby girl (which according to our Khmer doctor friend is about 3 weeks old) was added to Bileg’s Solid Rock Children’s Home. Apparently rejected by her parents and unwanted by relatives because she was obviously blind on both eyes (the locals believe that she would bring bad luck to the family), she was found abandoned by the roadside of a village some 30 kilometers from our Center. The Villager who found her brought her to Solid Rock and just left her (as in abandoned her the second time) in one of our sitting sheds, to the shock and bewilderment of our Home’s young staff. That’s how she came to the Solid Rock family. As our standard procedure, the case was reported to the Village and Commune authorities, and the baby was brought to the hospital for medical and physical examination, and to receive appropriate vaccine.
We realized how much God cares for this rejected, unwanted baby girl, that even before she was born, (people half a world away) put up a Home for her with a loving family to ensure her survival and to be all she can become. We know for sure that God loves her, and has a wonderful plan for her life.
Your prayers is much coveted. We thank you and all of God’s people supporting (this work) for your overwhelming support and partnership in Missions in Cambodia. The Lord of the Harvest bless and reward you even now, and in eternity!
Your co-laborers,
Felipe and Joy Castro”
