New year, new opportunities at the Sending Academy
It’s a new year. For a lot of people, 2015 will mean new gym memberships, welcoming new family members–through births and adoptions or weddings–family vacations, graduations, and a bunch of new memories. But for some young adults in Kansas City, 2015 marks the beginning of new opportunities. An opportunity for some to right their sinking ship.
On Monday, January 12th, the GO Project will launch its first Sending Academy–Kansas City class.
The Sending Academy offers motivated 18–24-year-olds who have “aged-out” of foster care, spent time in the juvenile justice system, or are floating from place to place in the community without stable housing or employment a chance to achieve those things.
It also offers a space for the local church and local businesses to step into the mess and equip students to become leaders.
We invite you to join us in praying for the students of the Sending Academy as they search for meaning and the hope that they have longed for.
