Projects are the lifeblood of myGO Project. All the projects on the site were created by people just like you. Each project supports a fund chosen by the creator, and all funds go to support The Global Orphan Project.
Starting in the Summer of 2018, I will be spending three months in Tyre, Lebanon working within the Syrian refugee camps, alongside The Global Orphan Project and Tyre Church! How did I come across this opportunity, you may ask? Divine appointment is the short story, but God has been leading me up to this for quite some time. About three years ago, the Lord began to break my heart for Muslim men and women. I found myself learning about the Islamic worldview, religion, and culture. In God’s loving and wise nature, He has been showing me the ways that their beliefs and values can be used as doorways to preach the Gospel. Within the last year the Lord has specifically opened my eyes to the needs within the refugee camps. As I have been reading through Lamentations and Ezekiel, the Holy Spirit has highlighted to me a parallel between the refugees today and the Israelites in Babylonian captivity who felt many similar emotions. The desire to help these people grew stronger, but I didn’t know where to begin. Within the last few months, however, God has put people in my path who have introduced me to The Global Orphan Project and Pastor Mohammed Yamout of Tyre Church. They have invited me to join their mission as we serve and share the love of Christ inside the Syrian refugee camps within Lebanon. I am honored and ecstatic to be able to assist this organization. I will be spending my time working with orphan care, youth summer camps, street ministry, women’s ministry, and other various tasks which they may need. I am excited to see the Lord’s faithfulness at play as I join in His Kingdom work inside Lebanon!
