'Love Steps In' – Inviting the vulnerable into our homes
Jimmy Dodd, is the President of Pastor Serve, a KC-based ministry that seeks to ensure that “every pastor has a pastor.” He’s also a valued friend of GO Project who loves Jesus and His children.
On Superbowl Sunday, Jimmy delivered a powerful sermon at Woodman Valley Chapel titled “Love Steps In.”
The central theme of the sermon was that by inviting the vulnerable (specifically the vulnerable child) into our homes, we invite the love of God into our lives.
At one point in the sermon, he asks a family to share their story. With tears in her eyes a mother shares this: “It wasn’t my dream. I didn’t want to do foster care. It wasn’t my idea. It was God’s idea. God built our family and He’s redeeming the broken parts of it. It’s so humbling that He is using us. There is no reason… nothing that we had to bring to the table, except obedience.”
I pray that more of us obey and give God our families and our churches so that He can build, redeem, and use them for His glory.
