Knock at the Door
I recently met Drew. A successful marketing executive, living in Leawood, with a loving family, Drew lives the American dream. “So,” I asked, “how did you end up in Haiti?”
This fall K-LOVE was generous enough to run public service announcements for GO Project. Drew heard ONE of them, picked up the phone, and basically booked his flight to Haiti where God met him in a powerful way.
In Revelation 3:20, Jesus says, “I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him and he with Me.”
It’s true. A radio message, an invitation from a friend, a passage of Scripture, a pricking of your Spirit — Jesus knocking at the door of your heart.
Sometimes, as with Drew, a person responds to the first knock. Other times, Jesus knocks repeatedly, at times for years…the person inside eating alone, while the Great Lover of the Soul stands and waits.
Can you hear Him softly knocking? Will you let Him in?
