Goodbyes
This morning, we had another great team of folks depart after a life experience here in Croix de Bouquet at the Orphan Transition Village. Our team was made up of folks from Kansas City, and many from Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Liberty. They had a blast with the kids – from kickball to kites, bubbles to Mary Poppins (in french) – they touched many hearts. I love seeing ‘first-timers’ come here – not knowing exactly what to expect, and what to do – to quickly becoming experts at holding hands, hugs, and laps. Then, that morning comes, when its time to head to the airport. The last goodbyes. There were some tears and lots of hugs – and this time, it was the guys who were the last to jump on the bus. Its a sweet time – and tonight, these kids will be thinking about the warm experience they shared with the team when the lay their heads down to sleep. And, the team – well, thinking the same thing.
