Getting to know our GO Africa Team
GO Africa Team pictured left to right: Wilberforce, Hilary, Alison, Rose & Sam
Wilberforce, GO Africa Regional Manager, North
“I am who I am by the grace of God.” – Wilberforce
Wilberforce grew up 1 of 14 children (5 who went to glory early) from wife #1 of the 4 women of his father. Wilberforce battled the challenges of poverty, spiritual darkness, and fatherly neglect as a child, but embraced the love of Jesus through His Church early in life and committed to following his Savior. Now in his late 20s, Wilberforce is a college grad, a preacher, a champion for the orphan, and a force for goodness. As an adult, he has led his father to a radical conversion in Jesus. His dad did marry Wilberforce’s mother. He now lives with her in fidelity, parents his younger children faithfully, and serves as a pastor to the community…the grace of God.
Hilary, GO Africa Regional Manager, South
“100 years ago in Kabale, people worshiped hundreds of gods. Few people could read. Women were viewed as second-class citizens. Today, people know about God. Many read, and more and more, women are viewed as sisters in Christ, co-inheritors of His Kingdom! We are making progress everyday!” – Hillary
Hilary is speaking of his home church’s (The Cathedral) centennial presence, which was celebrated by 10,000 people in the Kigezi Diocese last weekend. Hillary is the eldest living son of 12 children. He also has 8 of his own…some biological, but he doesn’t say which, as they are all his kids.
Dr. Alison, GO Africa Executive Director
“Obed’s life challenges my opposition to human cloning.” – Dr. Alison, singing the praises of one very gentle and faithful man whom God has used to provide home/family for more than 160 children in Southern Uganda. Obed was instrumental in starting the Father’s House in Kabale and Rukore. Alison continues to serve as a gifted, cross-cultural, spiritual leader, building bridges and bringing people together in Jesus.
Rose, GO Africa’s Facilitator of local church partnerships
“Does it make you proud to speak to your brother that way?” Rose gently, but firmly, asked a street vendor in Kampala who was yelling angrily at someone who had gotten in his way. Rose serves as GO Africa’s Facilitator of local church partnerships. She is a daughter of the King, bold and gracious.
Sam Roberts, GO Africa Sustainability Manager
“My father was a relentlessly self-improving, be-lingerie owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery.” – Sam Roberts, GO Africa Sustainability Manager. Actually that’s from Dr. Evil in the movie Austin Powers, who is not really on our team; it’s just one of my favorite quotes…please forgive my illness. Seriously, Sam = the man. Aggie grad. Business owner. Mid 30’s…in his prime, but instead of serving himself, Sam has placed his life under Jesus’ authority and serves others.
We are so grateful for the men and women God has brought together in GO Africa to champion His Children. I simply wanted you to get to know them a little better…and if you want to do your soul a HUGE favor: get to know them a lot better. Come over and serve with them on a GO Africa Vision Trip.

“If Jesus has shown me THIS, how much more will He continue to reveal in my growing relationship with Him!” – Sam
