Drawing Jesus' house
By Trip Manager Stepanie Mutert,
Championing artistic talent in the kids within the local church’s care is an exciting endeavor. Comparably, it is like art class for the first time and discovering which kids are good at drawing buildings, which at people, and what subject matter they are drawn to the quickest. Coloring pages are fun and the kids love them, but one of the most interesting times is when the kids have simply a piece of paper and a pen.
Our young friend had no direction, just his own creativity when he sat down with a blank piece of paper. After a lot of intense concentration, while biting his lower lip, he rose up confidently to show those around him what he had created. He had included so many things that all young kids would draw: lots of people, a car with someone driving it, a sun . . . but predominately in the center, where no one could possibly miss it, is Jesus’ house. Whatever the situation was to bring this young man into Pastor Isaac’s care, God is using that time to form him so deeply spiritually that the center of his world is Jesus’ house.
