Counting Our Blessings
We marvel at what the Lord has done through our local church partners and through you in 2013.
When the humility and radical generosity of those at the top of the world touch the most hurting children at the bottom of the world, a divine collision occurs. Like an atomic love bomb. Life change – community change – ripples out from the collision.
Take Haiti as just one example. Since the earthquake, we have been able to help our local church partners reunify nearly 1,000 children with their families. Today, our local church partners in 16 communities provide day-to-day care to 1,053 children who’ve suffered catastrophic family failure. Out from there, 3,048 children among the poor attend our partners’ schools. 518 people – moms and dads who can keep their own families in-tact and help their extended family networks – have gained solid employment from our combined efforts. 518! They are teachers, tailors, farmers, and so much more.
Consider that all of this is happening with the indigenous local church front and center, leading the way. Consider that this is happening in many countries, including India, Uganda, Ethiopia, Congo, Sudan, and now in our own country. Consider the spiritual shock waves coming off of this.
Consider that none of us over here are raising our hands to try and take credit for this. We’re helping local communities care for their own children; we’re staying behind the scenes; and we’re giving God the glory. In an otherwise cynical, self-centered world, it’s profoundly powerful to give ourselves away for this purpose that transcends any one of us.
As 2014 arrives, we are filled with resolve and anticipation, more so than ever. We look forward to meeting the needs of vulnerable children with your Year-End donations to our Different December campaign. We remain HONORED to facilitate the giving of your heart, and will use 100% of your gift for the Health & Safety needs of the children we all serve together. We trust the best is yet to come in their lives! God is faithful to complete what He starts! Looking forward to the New Year with you!
