A Christmas Message from Joe
Christmas is almost here! As we approach the celebration of the birth of one Child who changed the world, Joe Knittig, CEO of The Global Orphan Project, would like to share a story with you about another child. This child’s story is full of the redemption, love and hope that Christmas is all about:
“I want to encourage all of us to do it again this year. Make this a year of unreasonable love. Of unreasonable generosity. And of unreasonable hope.”
— Joe Knittig, CEO of The Global Orphan Project
Dear friends,
We exit every year asking our family of supporters to take part in a Different December; to give to a fund that supports the unseen, practical, hard stuff that is necessary to serve orphaned and vulnerable children. And every year, you respond big and play your part in miracles that you may never witness this side of heaven.
Why? Why did the pastor in the video shepherd one child 621 miles to safety? Why would you help him, though you may never meet him or that child?
It’s because of whom we serve: orphaned and abandoned children who are powerfully close to our Father’s heart.
It’s because of where we serve: at a holy intersection where humble people blessed with resources selflessly empower local churches to serve their own.
It’s because of why we serve: because the breathtaking power to love ignites in a low place — all the way down in the worthy heart of a child unjustly branded with a “wrong tribe” label. Radical generosity springs forth from radical humility.
This December, please consider a year-end donation to our Different December campaign. We remain honored to facilitate the giving of your heart and will use 100% of your gift for the Greatest Needs of the children we all serve together.
Thank you. And Merry Christmas!
Yours in Christ,
