Cholera in Haiti: an Update from The GO Project
Recent news from Haiti has been tough to read. An outbreak of Cholera, which causes dehydration and diarrhea, has turned fatal and is growing in scale. In the US, we’d treat Cholera by drinking clean water (an IV if necessary) and taking antibiotics. We’d slow its spreading by frequent use of hand sanitizer. Unfortunately that prescription is difficult to implement in mass scale in Haiti.
We are grateful our pastor partners in Haiti are reporting that Cholera has not affected our children. We are sharing what information we have with them and are prepared to get care for our kids should the need arise. In the meantime, we invite you to join us in prayer for God’s healing hand on the country of Haiti.
We will continue to use e-mail and the blog to share updates. Thank you for your heart for God’s kids!
