C3 Missions launches The Global Orphan Project
Well, I don’t know exactly how we got here.
I do know that not long ago, I had a harder heart than today. I know that I almost lost my beautiful bride, Beth. She lost her career and nearly her life to a brain hemorrhage. I remember kissing her goodbye as the nurses wheeled her body to the O.R. out of control and empty, I hated it.
Between the waiting room and now, so much has changed. Beth, my warrior, survived. We ve been blessed in a propane business, we found ourselves living as we never imagined. Through no real doing of our own. I learned to love more like Beth. I gave my heart and life to Jesus Christ, the same source of Beth s gracious love.
Beth and I concluded that we’d make a change. We d go on a life adventure to give our hearts away. We d invest our resources in orphans in the poorest corners of our planet.
Beth and I started C3 Missions International. (C3H8 is propane. It s called C3 in the industry. We named our mission C3 so we d never forget how the Lord provided for us.) We funded a home for Karen orphans on the Thai/Myanmar border. We thought that, maybe, we d be so fortunate to have 10 homes one day.
Then we started inviting our friends to engage, and what was once a small group of people we knew best has grown tremendously. 2 homes became 4, 4 became 16, then 50, then 100. One beautiful child at a time, the blessings flowed. Friends wanted to fund homes, food, beds, you name it, with the full measure of their hearts. Then people we d never met began to join in, then their friends, etc Orphans in the far reaches of the world dynamically changed relationships and hearts here. C3 started to virally spread. Once again, I found myself out of control. This time I loved it!
The joy of having orphans fill our hearts help us, and us them is too much to keep to ourselves. We need to give it away. So, over the last year, we ve been preparing to completely open up practical orphan care opportunities to all who are willing to engage as they choose. Whether Christians or not, we will welcome you to this global quest with open arms, love, and gratitude.
The Global Orphan Project is our formal handoff to you. You truly own this work. The more who engage, the more children are able to come into care, the more hearts will be changed both here and there. Beth and I pray that our story will soon be a mere footnote of The Global Orphan Project.
I don t know exactly how we got here. I sure know we re grateful. Welcome to this adventure. Enjoy!
Humbly yours,
Mike and Beth Fox
