Breaking ground in Ethiopia
We had a very encouraging meeting with the local management committee at Hossana and the Kale Hewitt Church, and saw the site where they have broken ground on the first block of two homes. (Groundbreaking seen at right) They are expecting to be done with construction sometime between the end of July and mid-August depending on how the weather cooperates. They are aiming to have 20 kids in care by the first of September when the Ethiopian new year and the Ethiopian school year begin.
In Koncko, a more rural part of Ethiopia, we broke ground of a different kind. We signed a Memorandum of Understanding with their local management committee! This children’s village is also part of GO’s partnership with the Kale Hewitt Church.
Stay tuned for more updates as the first kids come into care in Ethiopia!
