Birth of a Village: Chapter 3 Rukore's Site Plan and Budget
This March, we introduced you to Rukore, a rural town in gorgeous southern Uganda. Dr. Alison Barfoot, our GO Africa Field Director, identified a pressing need there to care for orphaned and abandoned children, as well as a strong potential partner, Pastor Betuebize at The Church of Uganda Rukore. Using Rukore as a case study to demonstrate the process of how a GO Project children’s village is born, we celebrated with you last month as our Covenant Agreement was signed. Today, we’re sharing the site plan and budget for initial development. While we hold these plans with an open hand, God’s Word directs us to first count the costs and then proceed with excellence when pursuing an opportunity. The attached Rukore Village Profile (Download the PDF HERE>>) serves three purposes: (1) unity with our Ugandan partners; (2) clarity when sharing the vision with potential US donors; (3) executability as construction begins.
With the site plan and budget developed, we now take Rukore “to market” in the U.S., which means we will pray for and seek people here who have a heart to make an investment in children in Rukore, Uganda. Please pray and seek with us. If you or someone you know may have a heart to participate in making Rukore a reality, please contact Adrien Lewis. God completes what He starts, and we believe He has started something great in Rukore. We’ll continue to keep you in the loop as His story for children in that community unfolds!
