Africa – expanding C3 to the children
In a couple of days Beth and I will be traveling to Rwanda, Africa. I have never been to Africa. Our friends who have visited there have cautioned us to guard our hearts. These same friends tell us that there really is something different, something really special, about the people of Africa. Especially the children.
To me, it would only make sense that orphaned and abandoned African children would be much the same as those I have spent time with in Haiti, Thailand, Cambodia and many other places. Aren’t street kids just alike any where you go? Well, we’ll see. For some wonderful reason, more and more people’s hearts are beating the heartbeat for the children of Africa. I have to admit, mine is too. I can’t really explain why, but I really don’t have to.
For months, God has been putting people in our path to encourage us to go to Africa. Missionaries, friends, ministry partners, even strangers have shared with us stories about the wonderful people of Africa and their beautiful continent. But many have also shared stories about the millions of homeless children of Africa. Did I really say millions? Yes, many millions. If ever there is a place that C3 could really blossom and serve the homeless and abandoned children of the world it surely is Africa. I sincerely hope so.
Anyway, in a couple of days we’ll go see for ourselves. I have intentions of taking in as much as I can by looking past the awesome beauty of the landscape and into the hearts of the children. I am sure I will see in just a matter of days just how I, my family, and C3 Missions can best serve the children of Africa. I bet the answer will be crystal clear.
