A Different December — Couch of Hope
John Randall and his wife, Christine, are understated, gifted, and they love children, especially orphaned and abandoned children.
I met John this spring. He served like a champ in Haiti. If you’ve spent anytime on our website, you’ve seen several of John’s wonderful photographs.
Like many of us, when he returned, he asked, “What can I do with what I know? How can I invest in these kids? How can I tell their story?” More creative than we’ll ever be, John and Christine came up with the red Couch of Hope.
For a donation to The GO Project, John photographs families, churches, and groups with the Couch of Hope. They receive the photo session. They get an 11×14 to keep, and if they’re smart, they’ll get to hear a little of what God is doing in the hearts of the Randall family.
This summer, after Haiti, John came back to a busy life in the US. Parenting one young daughter, expecting another via adoption from China, and running a business, one might think that John would shelve his Couch of Hope plans to care for others. Nope. Motivated by love, the Randalls are moving full speed ahead.
Recently, a friend of theirs asked John to bring the Couch of Hope to their school in Berwyn, Illinois. The children at Prairie Oaks raised $900 for orphaned children around the world.
Visit their Facebook Page (Randall Studio: http://www.facebook.com/RandallStudio ) for other Couch of Hope pix.
Where will the Couch of Hope will go next? To more schools? Businesses? Wrigley Field? To the top of the Sears Tower? God knows. He has a plan for the Randall family! As Christine prepares to leave next week for Haiti, it’s more than obvious that He is using them to bring hope and healing to many.
